Clayton YES! Appoints Directors of Development, Finance Executive Team Complete for Non-profit
FORT WORTH, Texas – Meryl Gunter and Michelline Malley complete the new executive team for Clayton YES! as the new directors of development and finance respectively. In the latter part of last year and earlier this year, Clayton YES! appointed Jason Ray, Chief Executive Officer and Robert Hamilton, Director of Programs.
Meryl Gunter, newly appointed Director of Development, comes to Clayton YES! with an extensive background in acquiring funding for nonprofit organizations. “For 12 years, I have been dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations find the funding needed to fulfill their mission,” she said. Meryl has written and managed competitive grant applications of funders that include state, federal, and local governments as well as corporations and private foundations.
While a grant writer for Fort Worth Independent School District, Meryl managed grant compliance for 40 after school programs. “As a working mom, I understand the importance of a fun, safe place for children to be after school
“Meryl’s experience in the nonprofit arena and her knowledge of government and private funders will be a huge asset to Clayton YES!,” said CEO, Jason Ray. “She comes to Clayton highly recommended with a portfolio of $30,000,000 in grant and contract awards for North Texas nonprofits and school districts.”
Meryl holds a Masters of Art degree in Urban Affairs from the University of Texas at Arlington; a certificate in nonprofit management, masters level and a Bachelors in Fine Arts in Theatre from Southern Methodist University. She has been a Fort Worth resident for 16 years. She and husband, Curtis Gunter, have two daughters and a son, Cameron, Alaina and James. Meryl enjoys creating art in her home studio using clay, paint, photography, mosaic and fiber. She can even be heard singing Broadway tunes in the kitchen as she bakes.
Michelline Malley is Clayton’s newly appointed director of finance. Michelline hails from Rio Grande Valley, Texas but has been a Tarrant County resident for more than 30 years. She is a graduate of the University of Texas Arlington with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in economics.
“I am keenly aware of the level of service, integrity, and experience Michelline will lend to Clayton YES! and proud to have her join our team,” says Jason Ray.
Michelline began her career in the medical field as financial director for a healthcare company. She later became controller for Big Brothers Big Sisters. “I am really excited to return to the service industry where my time and efforts help to improve the lives of others.”
Michelline and husband Tony have two sons and a daughter, Abraham, Aaron and Malerie. Michelline enjoys spending time with family and friends and is looking forward to her first vacation this summer to Jamaica.
Clayton YES! serves more than 6,200 children in over 80 public and private schools throughout North Texas and is one of the area’s leading providers of before and after school youth enrichment programs.
